Katherine FitzGibbon is a conductor, soprano, educator, and the Artistic Director of Resonance Ensemble. She founded Resonance in 2009 with a vision for adventurous choral performances that bring music into conversation with art, culture, and the world around us. Today, she leads the ensemble’s bold, socially engaged programming and commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices.

A longtime soprano, Kathy has performed throughout her career as both a soloist and ensemble singer, bringing the same musical curiosity and expressive spirit to the stage that she brings to her conducting. She is Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Lewis & Clark College, where she conducts, teaches, and oversees the college’s voice, choral, and opera programs.

Kathy has been recognized nationally for her innovative work, including the prestigious Louis Botto Award for Innovative Action and Entrepreneurial Zeal from Chorus America. With Resonance, she has commissioned dozens of new works and collaborated with artists across disciplines.
