JEssica Israels| Featured Artist

Jessica Israels is an accomplished vocalist, conductor, and educator whose work moves easily between jazz, classical music, and choral performance. She performs regularly with the Jessica Israels Trio, the Chuck Israels Sextet, and the Chuck Israels Jazz Orchestra, and is a featured singer on several of their recordings. She is also a member of Resonance Ensemble, Cappella Romana, and the Jecca Jazz Ensemble.

Her performance career has taken her around the country and onto some impressive stages, including performances with Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops, Marvin Hamlisch and the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the London Symphony Orchestra at the Florida International Festival.

Jessica holds a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from Valdosta State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Western Washington University. She spent two years as Assistant Director of Choral Activities at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh before making Portland home.

These days, Jessica is the Music Director at St. Gabriel Episcopal Church, conductor of the Multnomah Women’s Chorus, and a voice teacher at both her private studio and Clackamas Community College. In other words, she spends a lot of time helping people make beautiful sounds.
