The cloud is free only to go with the wind.
The rain is free only in falling.

Resonance Ensemble closes its eighth season on Saturday, June 24th, showcasing the poignant and captivating works of local area artists at the beautiful contemporary art center, Yale Union in music that emphasizes the resilience of the human spirit and its need to heal and transform.
Among the works included for this concert will be Only in Falling, a major composition by Portland composer Renée Favand-See commissioned by Resonance in 2014. The five-movement setting of Wendell Berry poems movingly captures the emotional power of the composer’s poignant voyage following the death of her newborn son, Owen.
The choir will also perform new works from up-and-coming American composers Dominick DiOrio, Jake Runestad, and Steven Sametz. Greg Ewer, hailed by The New York Times for his “refinement and spirit,” is Founder & Artistic Director of 45th Parallel and a violinist with the Oregon Symphony. Ewer will perform Bach’s Chaconne on the violin. Other featured performers include notable Portland actor Vin Shambry, distinguished Oregon Symphony harpist Jennifer Craig, and Portland Opera’s acclaimed David Saffert on the piano. Singer-songwriter Nikole Potulsky will perform her new work about the loss of a child, “Baby Mine,” from her upcoming debut album, You Want to Know About Me.
